The First Java Solution Development Center

For Hong Kong's Banking And Securities Industries

(April 25, 2001, HONG KONG) Excel Technology International (Hong Kong) Limited ("Excel Technology"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Excel Technology International Holdings Limited (stock code: 8048) is pleased to announce the joint establishment of the first Java Solution Development Center in Hong Kong with Sun Microsystems of California Limited ("Sun Microsystems").

The Java Solution Development Center is part of the iForce initiative of Sun Microsystems. The Center aims to showcase a set of fully integrated Java-based solutions developed by Excel Technology for the banking and securities industries. Sun Microsystems has contributed servers, software, training and support, while Excel Technology shall be responsible for the management and solutions development.

The Center initially features Excel Technology's latest products designed for the banking and securities industries, "iBank" and "InterTrade", which are Internet banking and integrated on-line securities trading solutions respectively. The Center not only provides proven e-Solutions based on the Java technology to the banking and finance companies, but also supports them to develop applications to implement their business concepts using the latest and proven Java based technology.
